I am an economist. I am a writer.
I am a man. I am not a number.
More seriously: I live in London, I work in research (vague enough?), and I’m neither a member of, nor a cheerleader for, any political party.
I’m sorry that Hundred Pockets is (for now) an anonymous blog. My job simply isn’t compatible with blogging about politics. And while I love blogging, I also really like having a job. It helps with, you know, paying for stuff.
Anonymity can be abused many ways – in particular to insult/belittle/’flame’/etc. I will not do this. Doubtless I will disagree, argue and generally make a nuisance of myself. But I’ll steer clear of the ad hominem stuff, if you’ll do the same.
Oh, and why the name? Well, I almost didn’t start a blog, because I thought ‘I just don’t have the time’. But a very clever man, with a truly magnificent moustache, once said: “When a man has much to put in them, a day has a hundred pockets.”
I hope he turns out to be right.
